Another week has passed and we are having a great time. Some days may by long, butt numbing and sore but once we reach the destination of that journey, it is always worth it!!

Patzcuaro is a large town with a small village feel. We enjoyed our time there with our evening being spent at the picturesque square, finding cute shops and having a wonderful dinner!
The next day we were up and at 'em early! We went to Santa Clara del Cobre, the town that specializes in copper. They are very skilled and it was interesting to see their wares. After, we went to the Isla Janitzio to see the big 40 meter statue of Jose Maria Morelos! It is a small island with a lot of character.
After lunch we took the boat back to the mainland and hopped on the bike to head to the coast.
It was a hot (really, really hot) and seemed like forever ride but when we arrived in Ixtapa we had a sunset drink and I had the best ever comfort food, baked potato topped with everything, and all was good again!! Thanks Frank's Bar and Grill!
The next day we arrived in Acapulco and watched the famous cliff divers and then had dinner with the best views of the city and bay. Breathtaking!
The drive between Acapulco and Escondido was another long one but we have to put some kilometers on if we are ever going to get home. It takes way longer to get anywhere also, because of the crappy ass roads, slow trucks, towns, and TOPES, TOPES, TOPES!! Of the 900 or so topes, Cordel has only failed to slow down completely for 2.
We spent two nights in Puerto Escondido and loved it there! It is so relaxed and laid back. More backpackers and less resorts!
On the way to Huatulco we made a detour to Cascada Magicas. The road was dirt and bumpy and dusty! One little wipe out in the same type of asshole dust powder that is so deep we lose traction that got us when we were going up the volcano the wrong way. Some people in a taxi stopped and said that they ride bikes and they would never go up there on bikes and that we were very brave.... Well, we are very something alright!! I think it was about this time we had a discussion about maybe changing what our current ideas of what adventure is, because getting a little bruised up and the bike getting a little beat up isn't as much fun as one thinks. Regardless, after assessing the situation and knowing that we both are okay, we laugh and keep going. This is one of those times that it was worth it!!! The waterfalls were kickass and we had an awesome time!! Swimming in the pools was so refreshing and exactly what we needed!!!
We arrived at our fancy hotel dirty and covered, head to toe, in dust. The concierge brought us a welcome drink and a cold, damp facecloth to wipe down with. I think he wanted us cleaned up a bit before entering the lobby! Blahahaha! Probably not used to the likes of us showing up :)
This hotel has been beyond amazing! They have taken such great care of us!!!

Leaving tomorrow early. Making our way to Tuxtla. We are having to cut out Oaxaca because of time but that is okay because one day Cordel and I plan on flying there and exploring the area then.

Cordel says that tomorrow is going to be another long day....

Until next time, xo
